Peter & Blues Birthday Party
26 - 29 Sept 2013, 11am & 2pm
Esplanade Theatre Studio

Singapore Dance Theatre presents Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party, a celebration in conjunction with SDT’s 25th Anniversary year. Performed at the Esplanade Theatre studio, this hour-long children’s ballet production brings together meaningful morals in a time of fun and adventure.

It is a sequel to the two ballets (Peter and Blue’s Forest Adventure in 2010 and 2011 and Peter and Blue go Around the World in 2012) with the return of kids' favourite and familiar characters – Peter, his dog Blue and his cat Calico, the mischievous Blueberry Boys, the lovely Apple Blossom girls and all their friends from the forest. The ever-inquisitive trio, Peter, Blue and Calico, will embark on yet another magical adventure, ending with unexpected surprise to celebrate Peter’s birthday.
Along with children’s activities such as meet-the-characters and photo-taking session, this is a perfect family outing not to be missed!

The Tale of the Frog Prince
29 Aug - 29 Sep 2013 (For ages 2 - 6 years old)
DBS Arts Centre - Home of SRT
The Tale of the Frog Prince brings to life the delightful story of an enchanted prince saved by true love’s kiss.
Prince Phillip has been stuck in the form of a frog since a wicked witch cast a spell on him. Ashamed of his outward appearance, the frog prince hides in a swamp, where young Princess Rosalie finds him one day. According to the frog prince, the spell can only be broken by a kiss from one whose love for him is true. Will Prince Phillip find true love undeterred by his outward appearance?
The Tale of the Frog Prince teaches children not to judge a book by its cover, and also serves as a light-hearted reminder to us adults that we should treat everyone with kindness and respect.
With humorous dialogue, colourful characters and catchy tunes, this play is sure to be a ribet-ing experience.

At play!werks, drama can be a means for children to learn through play. Each drama workshop is designed to ignite a child's imagination and allow their unique personality to bloom! The curriculum is based on values-based drama as a way to nurture good values in young children while indulging in good fun. In each class, they will focus on a specific theme such as integrity, honesty, sharing, patience, kindness etc. Your child will also benefit with a love for literature and language, increased self-confidence and develop good moral values. By this, you will also be contributing towards education in developing countries!  This is because a portion of the fees collected goes towards an organisation that supports education for underprivileged children. This term, play!werks is partnering with Caring for Cambodia (www.cfc.org).
